Image Editing Guide
Continue editing uses a generated image as the starting point for a new version. Select an image and provide text instructions to modify its background, lighting or composition. The original image remains available for comparison.
1. Choose an image to edit
Find the generated image you want to work on and select Continue editing. The workspace will load it as your starting image.
Check that the original image has loaded before writing your instructions. If Continue editing is unavailable, choose a result made with a model that supports editing.
2. Write the editing instructions
Say what should stay and what should change. Start with one main change, such as a new background or warmer lighting, so it is easier to judge the result.
To replace a product background: “Keep the handbag’s tan leather, shape and gold hardware. Replace the background with a cream studio backdrop, with soft light from the left and a natural shadow beneath the bag.”
To adjust portrait lighting: “Keep the person’s hairstyle, clothing and pose. Make the light softer and warmer, keep the face sharp, and leave the background unchanged.”
To simplify a composition: “Keep the main subject in its current position. Remove the extra objects in the background and leave clear space on the right for text.”
3. Review the settings and generate
Check the aspect ratio, resolution and quality options available for your selected model. Keep the original aspect ratio if you want a similar composition; changing it may crop or extend the scene.
Review the Credit cost shown on the button, then generate a new version. Opening edit mode does not use Credits; submitting the edit does.
4. Compare and save the result
Compare the new image with the original. Check the requested change and the details you wanted to keep, especially faces, product shapes, lettering and edges.
Download the version you prefer. To make another adjustment, select Continue editing on the version you want to build on and describe the next change.
Troubleshooting
Excessive changes: Make the request smaller and explicitly name the details you want to keep. Instead of “change the style,” try “keep the subject and composition, and only make the lighting warmer.”
Changes applied to the wrong area: Name the object or area more precisely, such as “the wall behind the person” or “the shadow beneath the bag.”
Source image unavailable: Select the completed image again. After refreshing the workspace, you may need to reselect the image before editing.
Generation failed: Read the error message and wait until the task has finished before trying again. Check your usage record for Credit charges, and contact support if the issue continues.
